Petit Galop Equestrian Camp - Summer Horse Riding Camp New York

Our Summer Horsemanship Program is a residential riding camp offered in 1 and 2 week sessions from late June— August. Because of its small size, with no more than 10 girls per session, each camper is sure to get plenty of individual attention. In addition to daily riding lessons, she will be taught the hands on skills needed to keep her assigned horse or pony healthy & happy; including feeding, grooming, bathing, mucking and turnout.

Riding lessons take place in our large indoor and outdoor riding arenas, on trails and in open fields in small groups of 3-5 students grouped according to their skill level. While extensive experience is not required, a few lessons are recommended prior to attending riding camp.

While mornings are reserved for horsemanship, afternoons offer a wide range of non-equestrian adventures & activities both on and off the farm. Choices such as swimming, biking, hiking, tennis, golf, arts & crafts and even gardening in our organic vegetable garden ensure a well rounded summer experience. We are just minutes from numerous lakes, rivers, golf courses, museums, bowling, cinema, Mountain Creed Water Park and Harriman State Park. French language tutoring is also available.
